1. As of tomorrow start drinking 6 glasses of water as follows: Drink a glass of water as soon as you wake up and before doing anything else. Then drink a glass of water every 3 hours. If needed put up a reminder on your mobile and make sure that you carry a bottle of water always with you. If it is more suitable you can have a couple of glasses with your meals instead of drinking any other drink.
2. Make sure that in the morning you eat a good breakfast consisting of cereals, low fat milk and 2 toasts with low fat butter. For drink you can have black coffee with low fat milk or a glass of fresh grapefruit juice.
3. Arrange your schedule so that you take your dinner at least 2-3 hours before going to bed. Dinner is you last meal of the day, this means no snacks or drinks after that (besides water). You can eat a green salad (no dressings) with 2 toasts (no butter) and a low fat yogurt with honey for desert. Your drink is of course water!
4. At least 3 times per week you will walk for 30 minutes and you will run for an extra 10 minutes. The speed and intensity of the exercise will depend on your physical condition. You do not have to run like crazy but you do have to push yourself a bit and feel your heart beat increasing. If you are fit then you can expand both the duration and frequency of these sessions. The more you can exercise the better is for your health and weight loss efforts.
5. Finally, one of my favorite weight loss tips, search your fridge, kitchen and cupboards and get rid of all chocolates, sweets and other unhealthy snacks. If you do not find them in front you then most likely you won’t look for them. This for many people sounds unnecessary but it is very important. When you watch TV at night you may get a desire for a snack. If you find something sweet you will not resist the temptation. Better save yourself from this situation and your diet from the many unneeded calories of snacks.
