Importance of protein

Protein is very essential in order to maintain a healthy body because it makes up around sixteen per cent of our entire body weight. The body’s skin, hair, connective tissues, and muscle are all made of protein. Protein has a significant impact on the body’s cells and fluids. Some chemicals in our bodies such as hormones, DNA, neurotransmitters, and enzymes are also made up from some proteins.

Our bodies are constantly using proteins and it is very important that it gets replace even though our bodies recycle it very well. Amino acids which are smaller units of proteins are essential for our bodies to stay healthy. Amino acids are found in animal proteins such as dairy products, eggs, and meats. There are a lot of plants that also have amino acids.

Our activity levels, size, and age all determine how much protein our body actually needs. One way to determine how much protein you body needs is to multiply your body weight by .37. The result will be the minimum amount of protein grams the body needs on a daily basis. If you weigh one hundred and fifty pounds then you should be consuming fifty-five grams of protein daily. A person weighing two hundred pounds should consume seventy-four grams and if you weigh two hundred and fifty pounds you should consume ninety-two grams.

People who participate in heavy exercise or do a lot of running should consume more protein. It is suggested that an additional 1.2 to 1.8 kilograms of protein should be consumed daily by people who participate in these activities. The additional amounts depend on how much exercising you do each day.

An estimate of just how much protein a person needs on a daily basis is around should be anywhere from ten to twenty percent of your total daily calories. Our bodies do not store proteins like it stores glucose or fats. So if our bodies do not get enough proteins the muscles mass will begin to break down very quickly so it is vitally important that our bodies get enough protein every single day to ensure a healthy mind and body. Recipes for the HCG Diet

There are many great recipes for the HCG diet. A HCG dieter loses a pound per day or more. The diet consists of taking HCG and eating a very low calorie diet, with great dishes including ground beef tacos and shrimp scampi.

HCG stands for Human Chorionic Gonadotropin. It is a hormone naturally produced by the body, and specifically produced by the placenta during pregnancy. Taking HCG causes the hypothalamus to release fat, out of fat-storage locations in the body, into the blood stream. Taking this naturally produced hormone, while eating a very low calorie diet, burns thousands of fat calories per day. Having good recipes for HCG diet make all the difference while doing the diet.

Very low calorie means five hundred calories or less. This does not mean that food will not be good and satisfying. It will be. The portions will be less, but the body will be getting adequate energy from the fat being released by the HCG, so eating smaller portions will still be satisfying.

Ground beef tacos can still be had for lunch on this diet, if made properly. To make them, simply brown one hundred grams of extra lean ground beef, drain, then add one tablespoon finely minced onion, one clove crushed and minced garlic, one dash of garlic powder, one dash of dried oregano, fresh chopped cilantro to taste, cayenne pepper to taste, and salt and pepper to taste. Add a bit of water and boil it off, allowing the flavors to infuse into the meat. Wrap the meat in bib or romaine lettuce leaves and serve with salsa.

Shrimp scampi is another tasty lunch to eat on the HCG diet. To make the scampi, one-quarter teaspoon of garlic in three tablespoons of lemon juice and a quarter-cup of vegetable broth, add a dash of onion powder, garlic powder and salt and pepper to taste. Finally, add one-hundred grams of peeled shrimp. Serve with low-calorie grilled asparagus and four strawberries.

Recipes for HCG diet are easy to find on the internet. As seen by the two tasty recipes above, the diet is not horrible. It just requires eating smaller portions. Eat well, but eat less and be healthier.
